The 4th of July is the best day ever! It's like the biggest birthday party for our whole country, and everyone gets to celebrate together. I live in California, where it's usually sunny and warm on the 4th. We start the day with a big family breakfast, and then we all get ready to go to the parade. The parade is awesome because there are floats, marching bands, and people throwing candy. My friends and I try to catch as much candy as we can!
After the parade, we usually have a barbecue in our backyard. My dad grills hot dogs and burgers, and my mom makes potato salad and watermelon slices. It's so yummy! We eat outside on picnic blankets and sometimes play games like cornhole or frisbee with my cousins. There's always music playing, and everyone is laughing and having a good time.
When it gets dark, we head over to the park for the fireworks. The park is packed with people, and there's a sense of excitement in the air. We lay out blankets and wait for the show to start. The fireworks are incredible! They light up the sky with bursts of color and loud booms. I love the ones that sparkle and crackle like giant sparklers. My favorite part is when they set off the finale—a huge display of fireworks that makes everyone cheer and clap.
After the fireworks, we head home tired but happy. Sometimes we stop for ice cream on the way back, which is the perfect way to end the day. The 4th of July is so much fun because it's a day to spend with family and friends, eat delicious food, and see amazing fireworks. I can't wait for next year's celebration!
